Bridging The Gap and Helping Families Become Self-Sufficient
Exploring Life & Business with Adrienne Myles of Cornerstone Resource & Community Center
Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrienne Myles.
Hi Adrienne, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was already running a daycare and began considering opening an adult daycare. When I shared the idea with my mother, she told me, “I don’t think that’s what you’re supposed to do. I think you need to pray and ask God what He wants you to do.”
I took her advice and began seeking God. One night, I had a dream. In the dream, I was going to inquire about my job description. I asked, “What am I supposed to do?” A woman simply pointed in a direction, and I followed. As I turned in the direction she pointed, I saw a building filled with children—from pre-K all the way through high school.
I turned back toward her, and she said, “Your job is to feed them.”
Then I woke up.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. There have been challenges with funding, resources, and navigating systems that weren’t always easy to understand. There were moments where things felt heavy and uncertain.
But through every obstacle, God has shown Himself faithful. Every delay, every challenge, and every struggle has been part of the process—shaping me, strengthening me, and confirming that this is the work I’ve been called to do. What didn’t break me built me.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Cornerstone Resource & Community Center is more than just an organization—it’s a community hub built on purpose, faith, and a commitment to serve. We exist to empower youth and families by providing mentorship, educational support, life-skills development, and access to essential resources that strengthen individuals and communities.
What we do is rooted in meeting real needs. We specialize in youth mentorship, tutoring, conflict management and negotiation skills training, and providing nutritious meals to children when schools are closed through programs like the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). We are also developing a Digital Learning Center and Computer Lab to expand access to technology and STEAM education for youth who may not otherwise have those opportunities.
What sets Cornerstone apart is that we don’t just offer programs—we pour into people. We focus on the whole child and the whole family, creating a safe, supportive environment where youth are not only fed physically but also nurtured mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Everything we do is intentional and designed to help young people grow into confident, self-sufficient adults.
What I am most proud of is that Cornerstone was built from a place of purpose and obedience. It started with a vision to serve, and despite challenges, it continues to grow and impact lives in meaningful ways. We are known for our heart, our consistency, and our commitment to showing up for the community.
I want people to know that Cornerstone is a place where vision meets provision—where needs are met, lives are changed, and the next generation is being equipped to thrive.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My biggest advice is to stay rooted in God and trust the vision He gave you. It won’t always be easy, and everything won’t happen overnight, but if God gave it to you, He will provide for it.
I wish I knew earlier how important it is to be patient and to trust the process. There will be challenges, delays, and moments of uncertainty, but those moments are part of your preparation. Stay consistent, stay obedient, and don’t give up when things get hard.
Also, don’t try to carry everything on your own—build a strong team and seek wise counsel. What God shows you is bigger than you, and you need the right people around you to help bring it to life.

I was looking for a specific vintage model, and they had it! The patina on the dial was done tastefully and looks very authentic. It’s clear that are their passion, not just their business.

Evening Meals for Kids and Families
Healthy Meals Can be a Challenge When School Is Out
Many families struggle to ensure their children have enough nutritious food each day, especially when school is not in session. At Cornerstone Community and Resource Center, we are committed to supporting our communities by providing after-school evening meals and weekend meals for children and their families.
A Third of the Year Without Meals
More than a third of the year consists of periods when children do not have reliable access to school meals, such as weekends, holidays, and school breaks. We are committed to bridging this gap by providing nutritious meals during these times, ensuring that children have the food they need even when school is not in session.
